On July 19^th, Cook County Board President Toni Prewinckle announced that the second installment property tax bills for the 2022 tax year will be ready by November 1^st and due on December 1^st. This is significantly later than the typical August 1^st due date of previous years. Second installment bills were also delayed in 2021 and 2022.

According to news reports, officials have blamed the delays on a combination of Covid-19 and technology problems in the Cook County Assessor’s office.
